What's the best size for an intercooler I have one all plumed in etc but its not as big as every one seems to use its off a suzuki cappicino thing but fits good behind the grill on the metro where the oil cooler normally goes is any intercooler beter than none or does it not work like that? Thanks scott

That's what I thought outs better than nout. Boost will be max 15psi probably only about 12 really but can always upgrade later I thought a good position in good air flow is better that a big intercooler with no air flow

Big intercoolers can give a larger pressure drop too though, so it's better to size fairly accurately.

no no no no, you need more boost! you can never ever come on here and say I have enough boost, that's just silly.

bigger what way though, long thin inter coolers (like mine) will drop more pressure than short wide ones,

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

i have said it many times ..........an intercooler is NOT the icing on the cake ................ ITS MORE CAKE !!!

usuall the 2wd cossie cooler is fine for 220 bhp ish but the 4 wd one is more efficient .......... if your train of thought is down those lines, you cant go wrong!

paint spray the cooler matt black it gives its heat up a lot more!

Its actually already black as std on the same lines as a mr2 cooler is putting a intake temp gauge a hard job? What sender do you use & what do you use to display the reading? Like Gauge wise?

MMMMMmmmmmm...... Caaaaaakkeee.
I have a cossie 4wd i plan to fit one day that i bought off kean. Im led to believe bigger is better on the subject. So long as you have a boost gauge and an inlet temp gauge i cant see there being a problem.

Its for a metro I really need to sort the intake temp gauge out really so I can see what's happening any useful tips on that.

Make sure you buy the 12V to 5V cable to go with these gauges.

Yeah just put the end under a jubilee poking into the hose near the plenum, youll probably have to extend the probes wiring though as its really short
