Here's the progress of my K1100 head conversion project.
After looking at some builds made by others i thought this is the conversion i'm going for.

So first started with closing all old holes in the block for a dry-deck setup. I lined up the block on my mill and drilled and tapped all holes.

Block back from machinist, skimmed of top and honed the 4 bores. Later on i'm going to mill inside the block to fit oil nozzles from a BMW M3 3.2 2009. Still waiting for the parts i ordered at local BMW garage, they had to order them from Hamburg germany.

After finishing first part of block modification i started drawing (acad) all parts i need for this conversion.
Here is the first on that i milled (side cover).

here are the rest of my home made parts:

adapter for water output bmw head

Also skimmed the head at the arrows for fitting the throttle body

Pulley adapters made adjustable for honda b16 crx pulley's. I still have to make the key peaces or i don't know how to call it in my worse English *surprised* to stop the adapter from slipping on the cams.

It was a easy to make the tooth wheel on the pulley but without the proper tools is a pain to make a keyway inside the bushing. So that is done at a local company.

And yes i didn't forget to make an oil passage at the back of the side plate *happy* (see movie)

Here for me the coolest part to make: the inlet housing. I'm going to run a Garret gt17 (saab 95 arrow) turbo so i don't know if the original plastic injection adapters will work (due to pressure). Lets hope for the best.
Has anyone experience with this?

Head also nearly finished only have to drill the oil return holes. Also machinist skimmed head and worked valves etc... Caution before rework the valves because for me it had to be grounded 0.2 mm so i can replace all my cam buckets and they are EXPENSIVE *frown*

Now a lot of parts are finished or nearly finished its time to fit all parts together.

For the interested this it how far I'm with the conversion and will update when there is more progress.

Cheers,

Pim

I like the mill. Are you using a kit or making your own pullies etc?

Thats coming on nicely!

Don't worry about the plastic inlet, they are fine with lots of boost. You may want to make some securing brackets to hold the plenum to the head. I had a problem with mine popping off under boost.

does anyone have a good smaller alternative, i looked at mini spares but they have the same alternator only a bit more shine. The less diameter it has the better it is, i do not have much space because the connector of the throttle body is sitting very close to the alternator.
