think 80,000 up to 180,000rpm, so it you want boost at 2500rpm you will need a fuckin big wheel driving a very small one. |

They have been fitted to plenty of cars, not so many minis though. Do a search for Rotrex on here and all will be revealed. http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk

Ah, that explains what all the gubbins is inside of the exploded diagrams I've seen. Hmmmm. Oh well, its an idea to muse and think about. @Ben H, I don't really want to buy one, due the prices I've seen them for new. Don't seem the sort of thing to turn up cheap on eBay either. Oh well, cheers anyway chaps. I'll just keep the idea working away at the back of my mind. Maybe I'll find some gears or something I can use one day and build some horrible amalgamation of gears, turbo bits and metal. |

Not sure how many teeth on a mini flywheel, maybe 100? so 2500 engine speed to generate 80000rpm spindle speed means that would be turning a 3 toothed cog which don't work too well. Anyway, like Brett said some weird boxes of multicog witchcraft are available to those with unlimited budgets. I'm not suggesting it is impossible to do, just a difficult and expensive mechanical piss around for no real benefit. Isn't it just easier to make an exhaust manifold for the turbo.. or buy a supercharger |

I am not suggesting you buy one. It is just a thread that discusses the pros and cons of this type of device. DO the search if you haven't.

Looking at the belt drive in that article, I'd have to say there isnt a hope in hell it would ever work. Load of balls.

I do like the idea of this type of charger and I would fit one over a traditional charger every time. Unless I wanted a persistent whine and proper all rpm torque.
