I'm after one of these, can be from any A+ engine, just need it for converting to a cam sensor, a la Paul S.

I'll be at MITP as well, so I can collect from there, cash in hand of course!

Cheers,
Carl.

We have one in a scrap engine, from a 998 A+. It will cost you one pint of Santa Pod's worst lager. That's assuming you are there Saturday, otherwise £200000000.

I'll have the beer, you can get it out of the filthy old engine and put it in the van *happy*

I did do a write up somewhere but I can't find it.

Basically this, dizzy case machined down to next to nothing and an aluminium baseplate and aluminium slotted wheel added.

using an optoswitch instead of Hall (I like 5V)

and a nice neat cover (my cat likes it),

and giving this

Hall is probably best nowadays but I have an obsession about not letting 9-12V inside the case (irrelevant in this scenario as MS2 uses an opto isolator on the input anyway).

Best solution overall is what Paul is now using, namely a Hall switch behind the timing gear (no dizzy drive required at all).

Ah interesting, I already have a Hall switch but I think design could be adapted (a tooth instead of a slot, at 90 degrees to the plate).

I shall make a decision at some point and post up what I've created in my build thread (holy thread resurrection batman).

Yes, but as you said back in 2009...

That's nice and compact compared to mine.

I need to make another one for the Miglia although I'm thinking about putting it in the front cover with a tab on the cam pulley.

I think that was the advantage of an optoswitch back then - I could make it a lot thinner.

And your thoughts from over two years ago have come to fruition :)
