Hi,

I have just fitted a vernier timing set and put the cam cover back on and now the engine won't turn over by hand.

I have read that you need to knock out the bulge in the timing cover, will this be causing my problem? If so does anyone have any pics of the bit I need to pop out. I have already cut out the semi-circular piece that fowled on the cam pulley.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Jon

no its right at the bottom, two bobbles, although Ive not heard of them stopping the engine turning, just making a noise.

slacken of the bolts til the engine turns, turn it a bit then take the cover off, you'll see where its been contacting.

ooh yeah, bottom two bolts behind the chain need to be counter sunk otherwise they'll hit the chain.
