we have an AP paddle in the don, its been in there from the time of build,

we have some specially made up solid sintered 7.25" disks in the twinnie, these are the lightest disk you could hope to use,

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

It will probably be worth it in the long run, with piece of mind that it wont slip. If it doesn't slip in the Don im sure it cope with my power lol

It's great in the hillclimber with a single grey, but occasionally slips in the verto.

Could be worth contacting www.clutch-specialists.co.uk . They sorted me out an excellent deal on a paddle plate and cover. I may end up replacing/modifying the cover if it slips as it is an experimental one, but the deal was so good it is still worth it.

What is experimental about it Jamie?

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

We are using the Minispares 5 paddle plate and an RTS in the Miglia.

Not sure if it just us, but it's like an on/off switch. When you just want to manouver about we probably stall about 50% of the time.

Probably because the throttle currently also behaves as a on/off switch but with a slight delay. A bit more work on the setup should sort that though.

I think the only real difference is that the spring is stronger, but I have no idea if it is strong enough. It may be the case that more engineering has gone into it, but I didn't ask. I am going see if/when it slips and feed back to them. It was worthwhile as in agreeing to be the guinea pig I got it for next to nothing.. they may decide to make more dependant on results.

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

Not sure. I think the alcon one is this one http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=...id=34871&title=

I bought the cheaper one as I had limited funds. It is by now means a switch (I use it daily), but it is a bit grabby, so you maybe need a few more revs for a smooth take off.

Warwick.

i have the same as wil posted above but the 190mm one in mine... not a hugely powerful car but i know im within the limits of it at least, around 100hp N/a
you can still slip the clutch obviously but you just have to work at it...
saying that it was having clutch slippage last time i used the car which was all the way back at castle combe last year, but i believe my oil seal is fudged. was still able to drive it round at a fairly reasonable rate and got the journey home fine.
