I think my return pipe is leaking...a lot, so i've just spent near on 30 minutes on my back removing it.

Any tips on fitting the new one with everything in situ? I've got a feeling i'll be fitting/removing/refitting a number of times as I trim the new hose to fit so any ideas would be great.

I think doing it in situ is probably not the best option. I dropped the engine and subframe. It's not that much work really. It also means you can make sure the job is done properly. I even connected the battery to the engine and cranked it to check for leaks before refitting.

It's a pain to fit using a proper jubilee driver makes life alot easier. I usually just open the clips out as wide as possible.

Are you talking about the turbo return? Elbow etc?

if i still had an a-series i would be undoing the mounts, remove the downpipe, and pry the whole engine forward(with an old scisor jack), and get in there with a flexible jubilee driver. but rather you than me lol

turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

Is a daft design. Why not just put the drain in the gearbox or flywheel housing?

I did. Into the gearbox. Doesn't make it much easier to get to though. It's just better downhill flow for the oil.
