I know theres many ways to remove a windscreen....but I'm shite at most I've tried, resulting in breakage. Like to keep the window and rubber in tact..........any thoughts?

At a push you can do it alone with the feet method from inside. Screen should gently pop out at one corner then you can get at it from the front |

Sorry to hijack but does the same skill work for fixed rear quater windows? A brick works for most windows really.. Although fixed rubber windows really are easy to remove. Getting that bastard chrome bit back in when refitting isnt though !! Frost sell a little tool for it I think. Buy it. I never had one when I did mine, and it took hours to get it back in. 9.85 @ 145mph

Treat all rubbers equally, only use them once.

are we talking mini or metro here? Good point.... I've never had any problems with Mini ones but broke a Metro one taking it out (usuall foot method), bought a brand new seal because I thought the old one had gone hard so caused the failure, then cracked my £10 scrappy replacement putting it in with the new seal.... The Metro seals don't have the removable filler strip so are less flexible - well that's my excuse.... Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ??? |
