Slightly O/T but one of my mates had a Garmin SatNav (this is going back about 5 years) and it had datalogging and a USB port built in so he could download the data after a run and plot it all on the PC, not just route, but speed, acceleration etc.
Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ??? |

The Koso digital speedos also do "power tests" you can do 0-whatever speed and distance timers, not sure if it goes up to 1/4 though. |

Have a look at the ETB Digidash2, great little thing, it will run off magnets with a speed sensor or you can do the gps upgrade which I've recently done. It uses the GPS for speed camera warnings too.

It just caught my eye, no faffing with cables & ratio's and although its not cheap its the same price as a smiths one, On 28th Aug, 2011 Kean said:

Road legal will require speed and an odometer than cannot be reset. At least not easily
