Just wondered how much experience people had on cooper 's' brakes, got some on my car at the minute along with 10" x 5 gb minilites, and they feel particularly useless. I can imagine they are more than in need of a re-build etc.

Interested to see if people think that these brakes are upto the job of a turbomini??

not sure on the turbo mini bit yet, but i was planning on running some modified 8.4" setup to run under 10's.... hopefully that'll give a bit more stopping power than the 7.5 s' setup...

I've seen the future and tbh its Pie

andeh what's your plan then ?
I might run fiesta caliper's on mine to run 10s *wink*
but then I might not
but they work well enough for my 1275 daily driver *wink*

cant decide wether to use 4pot metro ones with the necessary modifictions on 7.9" discs or to use some alloy ones. Trouble with the latter is the price ???...

how do you get metro caliper's to fit 7.9s ?
the metro caliper is huge *laughing*
I messed around a bit before converting to fiesta caliper's
and decided I don't fancy grinding the caliper's and I don't see how you are gonna get them under 10s *oh well*

I have had a good think about what would be the best set-up, and like you say the alloy 4 pots are a bit expensive, I was really tempted by this route and have already got some new metro drive flanges, and a couple of pair of discs, but beginning to wonder if its worth the expense.

Maybe some grooved 's' discs and some good pads would be okay?

Yeah i don't think i'll go for regualr track action, maybe a few trips to the pod etc once the project is finished.......

I think i'll keep hold of the 's' brakes and re-condition them myself, and see how it goes

cheers
