Wood & Pickett Mini Clubman - Quick Question

Hi guys,

Quick question - Does anybody here know if the W&P Minis had Wood & Pickett written on the logbook please ?

I got offered a Clubman the other day, want to have a look at it and its got the full W&P interior the smokers window doors but the grill is missing. Looked on-line and it looks as if it is a W&P Mini but when I asked to see the logbook it didnt say W&P on there -just said Morris Mini Clubman.

Would they have written it on the V5 ? How am I to know if it is a Genuine W&P Mini and not just a Mini that had all the trim put in ?

Any help or information will be greatly appreciated.

Does it have a plaque on it? I belive the big builds were all stampd. The logbook probably wont change though

I cant see any plaque. Where would they have fitted this ? would it have been hidden or in clear view ?

Give Wood & Pickett a ring (or email them) - I presume they keep records of the VIN numbers they are responsible for.

I assume it's the same Wood & Pickett from old, if not, if they bought the name, they probably got all the records.

I doubt the V5 will mention W&P - they were aftermarket coachbuilders and would modify an already registered car, not build one from scratch. I doubt they would bother to amend the V5.

I'll give them a ring and see what I can find out.

The log book wont mention W&P, just the original model etc. I had a 1275GT by W&P that had the standard front grille. I dont believe all cars had the special custom one, maybe an option, front end bump or nicked!
