I think its just the rear main cap robert. I'm sure Tadge44 would know. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

Not sure about the Maestro Robert, but the only issue will be, as stated, the rear main cap. If its enclosed and the oil does not need to be contained,like the mini, then even that is not an issue. The crank is likely to be different though as I believe it was coupled to a Golf type gearbox so may not have the taper on the tail for the flywheel.

i have if i go and get it ,i have a mini crank ,would that just drop straight in and i ignore the main seal?

I was told by a chap that has maestros and various a series engined cars that it will go on without work, but I don't know whether I trust that advise. get it anyway Robert, fit a mini main cap and have them line honed. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:
