James from Surrey here. I have a supercharged mini (yes I can read!) but I figured forced induction of some kind would be suffice to sneak in for a look around. Been messing with mini's on and off for 20 years and brought my current car 7 years ago as a toy. Done more and more to the car over the years and now its only used for racing (well at least thats the plan).

Thanks for the kind replies. Its a VMAX kit and the Webber is a recent addition. It was 135bhp and I'm hoping to see 20hp on that with the Webber.

I had it on the RR at VMAX a couple of weeks ago and it spit its dummy out. I knew it was going to be one of those days when the door handle inside would not let Stuart out of the car. We then made some progress jetting and on the last check it run up to 4k it lost power from 80 at the wheels down to 40. It then started running like a bag of shit so we though may be head gasket although the compression was fine on all 4 cylinders. I'm running a solid copper gasket instead of a de-compression plate as a last ditch attempt to not put a set of pistons in so first thoughts it might be this causing an issue under load. So we went to load it but on the trailer and the brakes were jammed on solid. We undid the unions at the compensator to free them off but something was still wrong. Anyway, went back to the workshop after yet again snatching defeat from the jaws of victory to lick my wounds. New master cylinder, a set of spark plugs, some silicon round the leaking thermostat housing and a new c clip on the door lock and she's nearly ready to try again!
