you literally just need to weld a triangular plate in between the b pillar and sill, cut the bins out then weld the plate in - easy. Someone on here even did a plate with a nice swaged hole in but can't remember who is was. looked smart though. :) On 7th Oct, 2010 5haneJ said:

It won't be a problem. But if you were thinking of using your car for hillclimbs then the pockets now need to be retained. I've had to weld mine back in. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

the design shows a distinct lack of imagination, talk about starting off with a clean sheet of paper, then not bothering to fucking draw on it,lol On 20th Apr, 2012 Paul S said:
I'm mainly concerned about swirl in the runners caused by the tangential entry. |

I've recently just cut out my bins, and will be doing the small gusset to try and help with strength.
Turbo parts collector at the moment, almost ready. |

Those flimsy pockets will do fuck all towards the structure of the shell. Theyre only held in by a few spotwelds and are flexible if you wiggle them with your hand, if they were stressed parts they would not be flexible at all.
I seriously doubt it! |

I cut mine out donkeys years ago and have suffered no ill effects are you sure? There are loads of guys on TMF that say they are structural

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

However, welding a triangular plate in would make it even stiffer. Why not? On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:
Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |

You could always add a couple of holes if you felt the need Paul. On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:
