Oops!
What wheel is that?
Nice bike too. Ive just bought a 48 spoke halo sas for my 24", i always had 36 all round on my bmx but don't wanna take the chance now.
Im guessing by looking at those wheels they don't have double walled rims, which really does help at the expense of a bitta extra weight.

Have you tried AJ Cycles at Higham?

Me and the MD cycled through Thrappo the other day. LA to Islip on the cycle track, then over the bridge, alongside the river, past the yatch club, over the foot bridge to get to the Nene Way but were met with stiles. Mucho lifting of two bikes over stiles :( Lunch at Aldwincle Tea Rooms and back again.

Do you know if you can get along the old railway line to Aldwincle?

Its a sun rim, think its is double walled just had a big somersaulting smash up lol, lucky i didnt injure myself lol. Are the halo rims the dogs bollocks then? Its only 32 spoke considering upgrading to more tho its just extra money. What bike u riding?

Im not sure to be honest paul, you pretty much cycled by my house on that ride. Did you go all the way round the boating lake then? Do aj cycles sell high end stuff?

AJ Cycles sell bikes and components. I was looking for a new road bike, some of them are around £4k !!!

We went up the west side of the boating lake and came back the same way. Can you get around the other side then?

Just looking for an off-road route from Thrappo to Aldwincle that does not involve stiles.

Oh god, sun rims. Say no more, i hate the things. You'll probably find that those rims are fine for normal use, but they look more XC orientated to me, so don't really take much of an impact. The rims ive got aren't the dogs nads as such, but are designed to take a hit from the word go, so stand up to much more abuse. Ive never broken a rim ive spent thereabouts £40 on, the last rims i had lasted years of park and street abuse, and generally only needed truing now and again.
Ive got myself a custom built identiti p-60 :)

Yes it goes all the way round, i bet u turned around at the grass bit? There a small dirt track that goes around the rest and its not too bad a little ride, not sure about the aldwincle route, infact not too sure where oldwincle is to be honest. Do u know any fairly good trails round here u can just follow for miles? I fancy a good ride when i fix it again.

I've got Mavic 321 rims on one of my bikes and so far they taken a hell of alot of abuse (DH, FR etc) but I'm not sure I'd use them for DJ (about the only thing I don't do) I've also got a set of DeeMax wheels for my DH bike and they are seriously meaty, I reckon you could ride them through a mine field and have the benefit of being bright yellow so would match you pedals.

You can get from Thrappo to Irthlingborough by cycle track.

It's flat and unchallenging though, plus you have to dodge the kids, grannies and dogs :)

also forgot to mention, if you buy a different rim youll more than likely need different spokes. if thats the case go for the DT Swiss double butted jobbies (Y) but remember to add at least 20 quid for spokes and another 20 quid for building if youre not doing it yourself

If thats the case i better off with just getting a whole new wheel. I was gonna build them myself, or have a pop. Not sure yet.

They're pretty simple to build, the only tricky bit is getting them true but most bike shops offer truing fairly cheaply.

How do you work out what spokes you need, do you the the wheel and hub at hand?

If you look on DT Swiss' web site there's a handy spoke calculator, however you'll need to take a few measurements off the hub & rim.
