No way you should even need ten sheets for the whole car (that's 40 strips when you split the sheets up to fit the rubbing block). (EDIT - Grammer) Edited by Rod S on 7th Sep, 2011. Try your local paint supplier, I bought a pack of 100 or so sheets a few years back for not alot, come to think of it I might still have some (I can't remember if I got them or my Dad got them when we devided up the tools) I'll have a look when I next get a chance. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

Matty tear the sheets in half soak them in warm water and washing up liquid about 30mins before you start, them use some in something like a washing up bottle or I use a sponge, just squeeze some water onto it everytime it feels like its sticking, patience is the answer. All the above advice is good, but Robert makes the most important point- do not go too fine on grade too soon.

You compound the panel with your chosen compound until it is like glass, smooth, shiny. All the wax or polish does after that is seal the surface and give a bit more lustre.

I always have a bar of soap handy when rubbing down and occasionally rub the piece of paper with it as I,m working -never get any clogging.Use loads of water though, to keep the panel flooded, clear of the paint particles that you are removing.

G3 is fine , put a small amount on the mop head then rub it round the pannel, (do say the door in four sections rather than one big one.) Start the machine off slow to work the compound in rather than full speed and it flying all over the place. You should have a nice glaze over the bit your buffing rather than it caked in compound, many peopl use too much and all it will do is clog the mop head up. Supose its abit of trail and error on what works for you.
