Im sure sikaflex is the general choice people use. There are quite a few threads on it somewhere. Sikaflex is used quite often in the rail freight industry as it's so reliable and durable. Admittedly that doesn't include any carbon fibre applications. |

Ive always used tiger seal on all my past rpojects, and used it on my mk1 build to seal my roof skin where I welded it on. TBH im fairly certain alot of the PU sealants are manufacured at the same place and just sold under different names...like most other products! lol https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fusion-Fabri..._homepage_panel

I used windscreen adhesive for my alu bootfloor with the correct primer. If a windscreen is part of the structure of a car then that adhesive must be pretty darn good for a roof I seriously doubt it! |

Trouble with epoxy is that it cures hard and brittle. If there is any flex in the roof panel or shell under driving conditions it will crack.
I seriously doubt it! |

Robert, you using the right type of sikaflex? There are many, when I was doing a polly window into my mums camper the supplier got me a different type of sikaflex to the normal stuff, perhaps there's one suitable for aluminium? turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

Thats Bull! DP110 is a general purpose adhesive and is used to bond non structural item such as interior trim and ferral inserts into cabin floor panels it is not used to bond panels onto aircraft structure!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This will not form a strong bond with the carbon panel or the metal of the car. it will form a very weak mechanical bond that will peel off at the first sign of load. As said above Araldyte 420 (blue) or any in that family of strucural adnesives are used to bond heavy aircraft strucure such as skins and frames they take 24hrs to reach full mechanical strength. I stock and use 420 to fit all my body kits, repair radiators and plastic mouldings and repair to composite panels. If you intend to bond to Aluminium then the surface needs to be keyed up and preferably anodised, the better form of keying up the surface would be to grit blast it with a very abrasive midia One last thing DP110 hates getting wet!
