I'm assuming the locks on the car are the same as the mk3's over here.

if they lock from the inside and not the outside then this should be your problem |

A Haynes manual shows an exploded view of how it all connects I seriously doubt it! |

Ok they both lock from the inside but not with the key. Lol..

You cant have connected the handle to the catch. Theres an arm that comes off the inside of the handle which needs to be connected to a rod on the latch I seriously doubt it! |

yes, as Paul has also noted, all you need to do is connect the lever from the handle to the lock. it should push on with a bit of force |

The ones I took of my doors t'other day had C clips (not circlips, my bad). On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:
