My sister is so fit I won't show anyone her picture

How can a wireless one possibly transmit from the sensor {on the driveshaft etc} to the actual speedo which is in the car ?
Surely you need one which is connected by a wire ?
The speedo on my bike only has about a 1m range and is directly in line with the sensor, i don't think this signal would pass through the bulkhead.

The batteries seem to run out every few months in the transmitter/sensor as the distance from the bottom of the forks to the handlebars is quite far. I can't see this being able to work on a car ?
I await being proved wrong .... lol *tongue*

the wired ones are on sale in tesco at the moment for £8, bargain! for that money it's got to be worth taking it apart and trying to squeeze an LED in there to make it back lit

found this smart little gadget, it does everything and even HAS A BACKLIGHT!!

its cable aswell so no worries about distance signal can travel, not sure how long the cable is tho.

it tells u altitude/temp etc and can even be linked into a heart rate moniter if u wanna see how hard ur working!

not cheap tho, about £45 i think....

you measure the circumference of your wheel (via adding a chalk mark and rolling it till the chalk mark comes round again, then measure the distance on the ground its travelled.)

add that in the unit and it then knows how far it travels with each pass of the magnet and works it out from there.

get it?

i got a cheep one from halfords but the problem is u can't set the rolling D its all pre set, also it needs the magnet to be within 4mm of the sensore, and i couldn't work out how to mount it.

i'll try and get some pics of mine for you dude, its mounted it on the brake drum, and you can get it within 4mm easily.

might be better to take that one back and get one that you can manually enter the circumference into, usually the gap is 10mm aswell which makes life easier.

I found that if you ditch the magnet that comes with it and use a stronger one (I got one out of an old broken hard disc *smiley* ) you can allow a bigger distance between the magnet and the sensor. Straight forward enough to rig up a LED to shine on it in the dark.

My model choice was any one that didn't say 'Cycle master' or something on the front :)
