Well after starting to restore and modify this car to be what I thought was going to be my ultimate car nearly 18yr's ago, then 18 months later when it was 80% complete, I locked it away in the shed (due to a change in my profession). Then 14yr's later I finally got round to completing it over 1yr. Then competed in the 2008 L & B run and the 2008 IMM in Holland, then fully uprated and rebuilt the engine, "and yes you guessed it" then parked it in the shed for a further 2.5yr's. Then after finally realising that it was a total waste of a great car, I plucked up the courage to sell it :( Sold the car within 1 day to a friend of a friend. So I'm glad the car is going to a good home and I will be able to see it again, but as I've got to deliver the car in a couple of weeks, it's parked in my garage looking the Dog's. Now the problem is, it took a real commitment to push myself to sell, as this car started my mini obsession, and has allowed me the knowledge and background to produce several other cars to a very high standard, and has become part of the family even if it was locked away in a shed for nigh on 15yr's, "it's like losing my arm", and as I'm in and out of the garage all the time, seeing the car is becoming sheer torture:$ I can't wait until I deliver it even though it will probably reduce a grown man to tears
Who would have thought a car could affect me so much, only realising it, now it's not mine but still seeing it in my garage.
Has anyone else go any similar crazy Mini stories.

That looks extremely well finished.

I miss all my toy cars when I sell them. Haven't driven a mini for a couple of years now, but took John's up to the test centre last week and it reminded me what I have been missing out on. Can't wait to get mine on the road and give it some abuse next year.

As I have said before I have a mini that I have had since it was 3 and I was 19. I will never sell it and reveal my feminine side and it is nowhere near as nice as your car, but it is mine.

I have a feeling that this story could yet have another chapter.
