Get your name in the annals of history.I was just looking for something on the MSA website when I came across a document listing all the british speed records. Many have not been set and some of those that have are really slow. take a look.

Interesting, the 1/4 standing start for cars up to 1500cc is 11.5 sec. We could beat that in the DON if they do not count the multiplier for forced induction?

I'd expect even if the multiplier was applied, you'd still be up for the quarter mile record, since the 1500 to 2000cc class has an slower time still at 11.7 sec. The 2000 to 3000cc class is not too far infront with 10.75 sec. Got to be something available, but i'd expect the vehicle would have to fit the class regulations and the event be an MSA event? Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

I'm sure the metro van could do 5000 miles more quickly than an Austin 7.... On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

Do you honestly think it could do 5000 miles between blow ups? If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

I reckon I could better most of the Class E diesel 1500-2000cc records with my golf! In fact most of the diesel records could easily be bettered with run of the mill mid-2000's saloons! If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

It looks like drag racing is bound by the manufacturer's specified option for capacity, so a super 998 DON will be needed :) |

I don't get this. 11.7 for a 1500-2000cc is the British record? I have a Maestro that's done 1/4 in 11.8, and that certainly isn't anywhere near the fastest <2000cc car I know. It must have a multiplier for forced induction and/or other rules around what can be run to have records that crap. |

I think that the problem is that to be included in the list you have to make an official attempt at the record. Hence although times probably have been bettered they have not been officially timed.
