I got my completely standard internals, 1275cc stage 1, hif44 carb, 12in wheels at the time, rolling road tuned, producing 64bhp @ 5600rpm (valve bounce after this) but not told from where this was measured.
And a chap in my club got 59bhp @ 4933rpm also not sure from where, on the same set of rollers, completely standard 998 engine on 10's.

Am i missing something here, or is something not right. Most stage one 998s ive heard of produce thereabouts 50ish bhp (at the fly? not 100% sure if thats fly or wheel figure)

haha, 59bhp @ under 5k out of a 998, that'd be over 100% VE at .55 BSFC.

So not likely. To get nearly 60 bhp out of a 998 it will ned to be revving way over 6k and have a decent cam and head.

Your 1275 value makes more sense, if at the fly anyway.

EDITED TO SAY WAY OVER 6K RATHER THAN 7K

Thought it was balls tbh. Might take my nephews pushchair there, i reckon it'll make about 10bhp.

There are very few rolling roads that give believable results.

MiniMag sent the same 998 Mini to about 9 (?) different rolling roads and got anything from 30 to 52hp!!!

I now have to check these numbers, but you get my drift.

EDIT: Numbers corrected

My mates stage1 998 with sw5 cam and a benross modded 295 only makes about that power, and leaves a stage1 998 like its stood still.

I wonder if i took my car back it would magically gain horsepower from doing absolutely nothing to it. If my value is right, and the 998 is wrong, is it possible for rollers to go out of calibration that quickly? This would be since 4th jan when mine was tuned.

Torque curve on the 998 is odd, 85lbft at 1950rpm?!

Third gear run and some deceiving maths perhaps?

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Also, just noticed the name of the tuner. Not very high tech if you ask me, going by their dyno equipment printouts

No, i found the graph quite funny myself. Hi-techs equipment is a bit outdated, but most of the cars they have in there are too, have many vintage racers and things in. I shall see what the mini club say about it tomorrow evening if its bought up. Although i bet everyone looks at me like im being a dick, i already have one who should know better saying the 998 results are right, and that person is one most of you know of!
