typically no damage to the toyota 4wheel.

it is de seamed as well so not sure on the effects of this repair.

it drove home fine seems ok nothing funny pushed my tank in a bit though.

can anyone advice me on the best way for repair? pop it out?? new panel welded in?

Oof that's unlucky.

However you may have also been lucky due to the height of the toyota!
I reckon you could save that panel with some pulling so you won't even need to replace things.
Obviously it will need some filling and repainting but I think you will get away with it.

Are the rear wheels looking ok? Normal camber/are the wheel centres the same distance apart on both sides?

Keep your chin up!
If you weren't so far away I'd offer to come round and kick it out with my foot (no joke).
Get the tank, seats, door cards out and see what you can do.

Check under the rear arch where the lip comes down to meet the rear 3/4 panel as that may have folded in slightly.

The seat back may also be a bit folded but I reckon you can easily save it

The problem with insurance companies especially some one elses, is that they look at the book price and don't give a fuck to the real condition or current market value. Expect a check for the book price, but DO NOT ACCEPT IT. Make sure you get an independet inspection carried out, not one by the thrid party's insurer, as they will surely under value it in an effort to write it off. You need to prove the true condition and value, stand your ground and fight to get it repaired properly. Your insurance company might be able to help, but its a whole lot easier if your insurance policy was a classic agreed value policy.

Jackman went through this only weeks after getting his back on the road after a Heritige reshell. The car was basically new from the ground up, but the third barty wrote it off and sent him a check for 1/4 its real worth. He fought with it and eventually got it all sorted, but it did take a while.

I'm not trying to depress you but rather preparing you for what those theiving insurance bastards will probibly do.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

how could he hit a bright yellow mini :(

ive seen minis with less damage wrote off by the insurance companies, even with just dented front wings and front panel, i would put money on sprocket being right here :(

When a guy drove into the back of me, i was lucky he wanted to settle it without insurance because that was my main worry it being wrote off, and with the help of Rick on here doing me a quote i was able to buy a new boot and it paid for other bits too. My rear valance and rear panel was pushed in, but it all pulled out straight.

What i didnt plan was taking it off the road and doing a full vtec turbo conversion at the same time and spending £13k!

nah front arch is fine just bottomed out on a gutter avoiding the curb when i got hit but as i said car drives fine.

i do have agreed value so ill check out what the go is with it all.

my panel beater reckons that panel will pull out pretty easy, but my questions is do i weld a new one in or get the panel beat out.

If your panel beater knows what he is doing, knock it out.

Welding new sections in is hard enough with the Mini configuration, let alone it being de-seamed.

The de-seamed bit doesn't seem to have split, so leave well alone.

How the bloody hell people can crash into bright yellow cars is beyond me, wake the fuck up!

Hope you get it sorted soon, as it doesn't look too bad.
