hi all

dont know if anyone can help? i have been given a fuel cell by a mate. the cell has the outlet pipe at the top of the tank so the fuel has to be sucked up to the top of the tank before it reaches the pump. would this be ok using the standard m/t fuel pump or would i have to plumb another pump in? any advise? was not sure as the mini tank has the outlet at the bottom.......

turbo pumps usually need to be gravity fed to work effectively.

think you'd really need to use a lift pump to a swirl pot or something.

If the pump is lower than the tank once the pump has filled then surly it will be syphoning it out so therefore under gravity anyhow

I would say you’d be fine running it from the top of the tank.
Most fuel pumps have a small amount of lift; I know the Bosch EFI pumps can lift around a meter before running into trouble with cavitation.

Give it a go and report back your finding.
