Fuel is normally black, White is norm oil could be valve guides. Well that what mine did, before I sent it to turbo phil for a rebuild. I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Fuelling wise its been set up on a rolling road and everything checks out - I'm running with a pretty conservative state of tune until I get used to things!

Pic of head (the ones of the block were too indistinct). You can see the area where I think the leakage is between 2/3 and the waterway - its got almost a 'wave' pattern.

I'm mainly concerned about swirl in the runners caused by the tangential entry. |

I guess it culd have been suckig water in on over run. But if it was doing that then it would have been compressing the water system on boost. Thats what I thought too - but i guess if it was doing that It would also increase the water sucked in on over run too. Would have thought there would have been more of a tell-tale of it pressurising the water system when on boost though. On 4th Oct, 2011 wil_h said:
White smoke from a turbo can be worn turbo seals. Is there any oil in the pipes from the turbo to carb? Pipes are clean - was the first thing I checked. Should have it back together tomorrow/Thursday (work permitting) so I guess I'll find out then - fingers crossed everything will be OK. I'm well and truly bitten with the turbo A-series bug after the few laps I did at Llandow last Friday and I'm looking forward to getting back into competition after 2 years off! |

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |
