anyone any ideas ... my speakers were working fine at lunchtime ..now all i get i high pitched screaming type noice ???

Everyone knows that instructions only have to be read if the thing doesn't work....

you've broke it then mate. if you reboot the pc, does it happen as soon as your pc is turned on, or only when it boots to windows

its doing something .. cos when i get a new email the "pitch " of the note changes , ie when your being notified of a new email

is rebooting the same as ripping the plug out the wall and counting to ten and trying again ????

if you have xp do a system restore to a date before the speakers played up and see if that works, click on programs, accesories,system tools, system restore , then the rest is self explanatory

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas

Ah pissing in the BIOS.
Looks like you have flooded it Mark!

Any clues to what you may have changed in the BIOS?
Have you disconnected the speakers at any point?
If so are they plugged into the correct socket (green one)?

Bit more info might help to pinpoint your issue.

in the bios i changed the processor senting i think , when i start up it was showing i only had a 1100 so i when into bios and changed that to a 1700+ which is what i have , i done a restore and that didn`t work , tryied change a plug leads around... no joy !!

ok then jim , i`ve downloaded some vids in avi , they only play the sound and say there`s any error downloading the codec , wtf do i need to play them??
