I spoke to my local engine people the other day about rings for standard turbo pistons, and they reckon they can still get them without any problem!?!?!

He even rung up to check stock whilst i was there? Mind you, these are the same people that managed to track down a set of green goddess valve caps/guides/springs (something like that...) when everyone else failed!! I guess its true, its not what you know, but who!!!

And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers!

I would imagine there could be hundreds of sets of these rings kicking around sat on various companies shelves. It's just us mini lot tend to order from mini suppliers.

In the past these cars weren't specialist, they were mainstream. I would imagine many a metro turbo had to have a rebuild in the past. A lot of these probably being done by standard back street garages, who use non a-series specialist machine shops.
