Hi All,

my name is Fred
I joined this forum recently and have been absorbing a lot of information.
I'm planning to build a fuel injected turbo 1380 for my Austin A35.
There are a lot of choices still to be made, 5 or 7 port, type of turbo, type of ecu....etc
hope to find most of the answers on here :)

Cheers
Fred

Very welcome indeed - another turbo A35 at last !!

We must talk sometime.

You will certainly find all the answers and suggestions on here, even some you probably never thought of.

Look forward to seeing the pictures in due course.

hi tadge44

my car is still standard at the moment.
I have been collecting bits to upgrade.
I have midget front brakes, 5 speed conversion, lowered springs front, lowering blocks rear, panhard rod, front ARB, LSD, 3.7 CWP, midget axle... which will give me some work this winter. Steel half shafts are on the shopping list as are different top trunnions for front.
A friend who races a sprite will modify the lever arm dampers for me.
regarding the engine I'm only sure on capacity...1380...as the bottom end is all machined.
A 5 port head would be cheapest but is a bit of a challenge with injection...reading on here this megasquirt seems to be the only proper way to go with 5 porter but I don't feel confident with DIY electronics.
The choice of a 7 port head would standardise the injection and widen the choice of ecu.
Unfortunately the latter option is also rather costly.

I don't have many photo's so that will come later.

Cheers
Fred

Welcome.

No need for any DIY electronics with the latest Megasquirt. A standard MS3/3X will do everything you need to properly inject the 5 port without having to undo the case.

EDIT: There is also Jean's new ECU:

You seem to have gone about it the right way, thats for sure, accumulating all the parts before starting - I wish I had !

If you have not already sourced half shafts can I recommend those from Rae Davis racing ? These are made to a different specification to those from Peter May Engineering and are undoubtedly stronger. I should lay in a stock of 3.7 diffs if you can !

Talk to David about half shafts before buying, but DO replace the standard ones, they will fail.
