They seem to do the job for us on the van.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

If you are using standard pistons you have hobson's choice when it comes to piston rings.

They haven't been generally available for years, but I'm sure there will still be some lurking on dusty shelves.

There will always be some one who finds a set of standard rings, nad more so if you know where to look, but the last set I found the guy wanted pretty much what it would cost for the Total seal rings, which was a no brainer, Total seal rings were ordered, received and installed *happy*

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Most probably these ones: http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=...id=34929&title=

They win the prize for most confusing sales description ever. I'm sure they sold out of these a year or two ago when it was realised what they really were.

Some have bought those and they didn't fit. Now the confusion is in whether it was those who bought them were not fitting them to the right pistons, or that the rings themselves were not the right size for what they say they are. and to this day, nobody still knows. so do you spend your cash at Minispares for them to be incorrect and still have to find rings elsewhere, or do you do for the only real option that you know will fit?

I'm not saying those rings are the wrong size, just that there has been some confusion involved in the past, and its never been cleared up.
