Well i know this is a school boy question but i have never seen a linered block in the flesh before.

Its a 1275cc block so can it go out to 1380cc ??

thanks simon.

I have started posting on Instagram also my name on there is turbomk1golf

Nothing is impossible it just costs more and takes longer.

i think without the liners it'll be around 1380 but you can put different liners in to make 1293, 1310, 1330 etc

You can line bore the liners, but only by so much.

You could probably have them pressed out, the block bored larger for new bigger liners.

I would take it to a machine shop and ask for their opinion on what is safe to do to it.

Some blocks were re-linered at the factory from what I heard. I got one years ago. It's actually still in my ever rusting mini.

I doubt they'd safely take much more than a 20thou overbore, and certainly no offset boring to achieve 1380

No good when you have 73.5mm pistons though.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

If I remember correctly, boring it out to 73,5 completely removes the liner.
Bor it .020 and you'll have the strongest cylinders walls in the country *wink* Those liners are much better than cast iron.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

I have heard the wear characteristics of linered blocks is far superior to that of the non linered items.

TBH Simon. If it's no good to you I'll swap you the block I have at 73mm.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.
