With the winter continuing decided to make a start and fit the MJ kit that i have had sitting around for a while, fix the oil leak on the timing cover and have BENROSS build a new head.

Mega Jolt installation is going to plan and managed to convert from TPS to MAP with no real issues apart from fitting the MAP sensor upside down (school boy error). had Tom make the pulley and bracket so should be an easy fitment.

just received referbished cylinder head from BENROSS and the workmanship is outstanding.
thanks again steve

located the oil leak which was from a small crack in the timing cover so easy fix by replacing the cover with a spare one i had sitting around.

hopefully will get the mini back together this weekend and attempt to start it *happy*

a little more work done over the weekend on the mini, managed to get most of the MJ insatlled and engine rebuilt *smiley*

had a few issues which is nothing usual when working on the mini *surprised* still awaiting some more exhaust wrap to allow the maniflow stage 2 manifold to be refitted, then finish all the other ancilleries and see if its starts.

well its ALIVE *happy* and running on MJ. *Clapping*

had a light issue with VR sensor as was unsure of which way was the correct way to connect it and guess what i got it wrong :( , simple fix though as hadnt soldered wires

checked crack sensor and spot on 10 degrees (cheers tom) the question that is running round in my head is "if edis4 is running waste spark why does my dinosaur timing light read 10 degrees with MJ disconnected and not 20" as its firing on the exhaust too. *Idea*

dropped in a temp map until i get it rolling road'd *happy* (cheers smiffy)

need to get it back on its wheels now and refit dash as it all works, got some pictures and video so will post later.

Looks alright mate but you may need to knock some timing off around the
2000/50kpa area and you may find it will take alot more timing higher up in the revs full load but id leave that for the rr guy to settup

When your driving at part throttle just listen out for janglie keys on a chain sound if you hear it just back off a little and knock off 5 deg at that part of the map and try again

That doesn't really follow Bretts advice of less at low rpm and more at high rpm, you've done the opposite with that second map.

The first one will get you to a rr fine, so long as you drive with a bit of sympathy.

hi mike, this was just another map i had on the laptop, when the dizzzzzzzy was fitted it was set at 16 at tick over and full mechanical advance was 32 (no vacuum fitted) so been looking at maps with a max advance of 32. if that makes sense.

was told not to really go over 32 on a n/a

I see, the first one looks adequate for getting you to a rolling road. The second one looks a bit flat.

I'd chuck the first one on and make getting to a RR a priority.

I have quite a few maps I can send you If you want to have a browse through them, I have all the 123 ignition curves (0-8), a 1380 map and a 1275 with 286 map. Drop me a PM if you want them and I can email them to you.

well mini made it to RR this morning, was very careful with getting there after having to replace the head gasket at the last minute on thursday night, even set rev limit at 4000 rpm :-o

had mini set up with megajolt and a power run perform *happy*

106 bhp @ 6600 rpm
84 lbf-ft @ 5650 rpm

its not turbo figures but pretty impressed with over 100 bhp for a n/a, now just need to get a sub 17 second 1/4 mile at MITP.

Thanks again to you all for the help with MJ and head :)
