How do gents

On my last engine the timing chain cover leaked like a good un so this time I want to make sure it doesn't. Should I use instant gasket and is there a correct torque setting or technique for making sure it is as good as it can get?

IIRC the torque is 8 ft lb, which is literally just nipped up, if you do them too tight its not hard to distort the thin cover,

I use locktite 574, and make sure every thing is degereased well, also put the cover on with all the bolts loose, then fit the pully to centralize the cover in the oil seal, then tighten the bolts.
