Another pedal box thread...!

What are peoples thoughts on removing the section that bolts to the lower dash rail?

Ive been trying to work out whether it is needed, as im thinking of removing my lower dash rail?

the main benefit imo is its a very strong mount for the steering rack i have rolled my mini around the drive with it unbolted and the wheel moves a fair bit
my 2p worth *happy*

Im planning on doing a mig bulkhead, and going to mount the steering column to that. The steering column was the only thing I could see that really benefits from that mount.

We have removed it on the racer, it is fine. The bolts on the bulkhead are right on the pivot so there is no need for the extra metal.
