On close inspection of a K1200 head, I've noticed that there is a diffence in the valve angles in the head ?
Now initially I thought this was to allow the inlet valve to be fitted better in the head.
After doin some digging on the net and not really finding anything, apart from references to F1 head design.
So is the difference in valve angles all to do with design for air flow in and out of the head.*oh well*

If it a'nt broke don't fix it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

inlet 20.5 degrees exhaust 19.5 degrees off vertical

1 degree in it, pretty much fuck all of fuck all, but BMW must have calculted and experienced a benefit I supose.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

Maybe.

The inlet valves are larger then the exhausts (obviously) so that extra degree of angle on the inlet would tip the valve seat giving it a little more room. One thing that some people do not realise is that the spark plug is not in the center of the chamber, it is offset towards the exhusts, again because of the valve size differencies.

I'd like to think that that extra degree angle was more to do with the approach of the charge into the port, valve throat and chamber, rather than a space constraint.
