The most recent results on Resultsman for a sprint at Llandow are for an event in 2009 (the site only includes events timed by MMTS though).

Looking at the lap 2 times (the complete flying lap) your 45 second laps would put you in amongst the Locaterfields.

I guess I'll compare my times with lap 2 as lap 1 missed out the bus stop chicane, not to shabby times then. Looking at this video, I have a lot of improvment todo, far from consistant.

Trackdays are not always great for working out how quick you can get round a track as you easilly get caught up behind traffic or the super causious on the corners.

Tell you what though Jim, Its easy to see how brutal your car is the speed at which you pass everyone lol.

Well at 3.58 you can see how quickly you go past dan187 in his 998 turbo.

and for comparison I was doing around 55 seconds in my n/a 1380.

And around 61 seconds with the 998 engine.

Turbo parts collector at the moment, almost ready.

Doesn't matter, what matters is that next time you go out you do sub 44 second laps

That looks seriously quick Jim

Out of interest what rpm is it red lining at, something like 7500? its a bit difficult to tell how hard its revving with all the background noise!

just checked the logs, and I hit the rev limiter once on the back straight (but not in this video) at 8400, but most of the time the engine never saw 6900rpm

Thanks, I guess with so much torque there is no need to rev the bollocks off it.

what sort of boost is this on? faily low I presume, about 12-15psi?

it looks like the steering pulls around a lot when your getting on and off the throttle,

do you run mapped boost? I'm thinking if the boost is mapped on the throttle you'll be able to feed in the boost as you get on the throttle and you'll be able to get out of the corners much easier.

this was on 20psi, the boost is mapped to throttle and gear (you may notice it pull more in 4th than 3rd), but with 9" wide slicks some torque steer is bound to happen

thats good going then on 20 control wise,

the only other thing I can suggest is power steering,

After Avon I found that the crank trigger had slipped, retarding the timing by 20 degrees. Took me bloody ages to find the problem.

Always good to find the problem , a bit like me at MITP,

the Don was runnig very erratic, missing like a pig under laod, and the ECU making dramatic ajustmants during a run, i was packing the bloody thing onto the trailer when robert pointed out a vac tail off the dump valve, put it back on and hey presto, and 11.7 pass,

I had that happen three days before that dyno shoot out. The engine was gutless, and idled like shit. Glad it was just that simple, and its a good thing these trigger wheels retard when they slip!!
