Hi I have been reading this forum for a while now and finally got the courage to join up!

I am planning a 998 turbo probably starting off with a carb and then moving over to port injection EFI.
To run the ignition initially I was planning on getting a MS and after reading Paul S's review of the MS3 I think that this maybe the best way to go. I was hoping to place the order this week with DIYautotune if the discount happens so wanted some advice if I have missed anything off my list:
1. Ms3 un-assembled partial kit
2. MS3x expansion card
3. Connector for ms3x DB37
4. Wiring bundle 12'

I need to make a new loom for the van so was just going to get the wiring bundle rather than any pre made wiring harness, but not sure how complex the plugs are to solder up?

Also should I look to get any sensors (IA, water, crank) at the same or are these easier to get over here?
I was planning on ordering the JimStim from JBelanger directly rather than diyautotune.
Widebands will have to be saved for a bit more (AEM) first!
Thanks in advance and hope I have posted in the right place!

Looks OK. I was not aware that they did a partial kit.

You will need the MS3 - Un-assembled kit V3.0 PCb with a case and the MS3X Expansion card.

You can either get the harnesses from DIYA or make them up yourself.

I find soldering the DB37s quite difficult, so prefer the harnesses. Trouble is you get more wires than you need. Also a 12' bundle is enough for two cars, length wise.

Sensor plugs are easy to solder.

I source the sensors and connectors separately, all readily available from ebay or polevolt etc.

Thanks Paul for your reply
I should have added that I was going to order a second ignition driver as well as the one in the kit and mount these in a separate case to drive the ignition coil - wasted spark. I will run the outputs from the ms3x to this then at logic level.

I'm pretty sure that you can fit the second igntion driver to the main board and drive the wasted spark coils from there.

Have a think about CNPs though. Not much more money and a lot easier to wire in. No need for any extra soldering.

Yes I had thought about using the ls coils, but when I searched eBay before they were quite a bit of money. These seem a good option though at that price and as you said won't be much more than the ford coil pack and easier to run from the ms3x. I think I'll skip the second ign driver and go this route. Thanks again.
