is it possible on a mini to get both the front and rear wheels tucked right under the arches without any arch mods (as in cutting)?

ive nearly done it with a set of 4.5 inch wide standard 12 inch minilites but was wondering if i got a set of 10s with a huge positive offset and narrow at the same time such as force racing wheels or even the 3.5 inch cooper s steel wheels from mini sport?

this picture may be a golf but you get the idea/plan from it..

The look of your Golf is not really achievable on a mini as far as I am aware.

To get that low at the rear would mean that the radius arm would foul the body and the arch is not very deep.

i wasnt looking at going quite as low as the golf, i only posted that picture so that people understood fully what i was talking about.. where would the rad arm foul? im not disputing it, as you know what your talking about, im just have trouble picturing where it would foul??
im talking going as low as the rad arm/wheel would go into the arch.. as said i almost achieved it with my 12s but surely a set of narrow 10s would work??

the subframe id of thought. to get that look you may have to modify the rear quarter panels*oh well*

The radius arm fouls the area where the vertical section of the inner arch joins with the boot floor. You'll crush the brake pipe first, but you can buy long braded pipes and move it out of the way. You could hammer part of the lip flat wher ethe radius arm fouls this will give you a little more, but the radius arm will still foul the boot floor.

Thats not the real problem, the real problem is that the damper will bottom out long before you get to where you want to be.

There are people who have achieved the slammed look. Its easier if you use some arch extentions and position them lower, tub the rear arches and trim the front, lower the car 2 or 3" and you'll get the look somewhere near where you want to be.

The radius arm fouls the body seam between the boot floor and the arch that runs above the radius arm.

And if you go that low at the rear you'll need to be low at the front. Again, it's difficult to get that low. You will have to have the top arm way beyond the bumpstop. And once you are beyond that with 10s your sump will be sparking on the floor.

Even with the largest diameter wheels available you just won't manage it.

The only way I can think that it would be possible (at the rear) is with some serious cutting and shutting of both the radius arm mounting and the arches.

The top and bottom of it is, without cutting stuff apart, it won't happen, the best you'll do is buy some wider wheels and some arches with no return, and mount the arches as low as possible and drop the car a bit on hi-los.
I've long given up on slammed cars, whilst it may look nice it makes the car unusable

How about using some of the McLeans Bros Mexico arches, you will need to run some wide 13" wheels but it might get the tucked look your after. Other than that your going to need a large hammer! and alot of luck.

Or go vip style with massive camber, i have thought about this and i think it could be done with rolled arches and lowered, run some reverse steels raise the front subby and inch by the 'miglia' mod, redo the mounting points and slamm it abit the drop the back down so tyre will be under but not the whole rim sort of how some of the drifters do it on escorts and ae86's. I love slammed cars and wish to do something to mine when its at the right stage but will probably be arch extension dropping to create the lower look

You'll never get an extra inch without serious modifications to the cbulkhead crossmember. It's more like 1/2"

this was gonna be my option also, the only way realy is to rais all mounting points as sugested including the majority of the boot floor... it is achievable without touching any of the arms but the arches might need to be extended slightly for them to go over the tyres.
looks well on some cars but the overall styling would want to be right or you'd look like a twat IMO

Mine is at the limit of low trust me you cant go low enough with the std front suspension arms and the boot floor to do what your describing... And the mini doesnt exactly have arches to roll
mine tooked quite nicely though *wink*

And beware of the front ball joints locking up and breaking if you go low enough to tuck your wheels in. You might need to run your exhaust inside the car with you too because otherwise it will be ripped off the car the first time you go out in it.

No forget running the exhaust inside with you that's just daft, I meant fit sidepipes instead.

clock tower with a sniper rifle

4,5 minilights, non spacered drums, 145 tires, no tubbing maybe raise arch "roof" for greater suspension travel

i had this plan many moons ago, unsure if it works though!
