little rant having a terrible time tonight due to EBAY! but it doesnt help due to the fact the trouble stems from a user on here.

i bought a bonnet on the 14th it was a fibreglass one with a 16v buldge, but it used to be a mk3 bonnet with the lip moulded on... but the lip had been cut off! and not very well at all must have just been done by eye with no marking whats so ever as the curve is the wrong way round for example like like your bottom lip when you smile!

i had also messaged the seller before bidding wondering if it had been ever been fitted my reply was no it had never been fitted and it was made without the mk1 lip IE moulded round not cut off.

after a few seconds of opening the parcel i knew that it had been fitted and covered up with filler and fibreglass also along the front lip the fibreglass had cracked so i contacted the ebay user and got a response that he dont accept returns blah blah blah.... after a few hours of communicating we got to the resolution of i will send it back tracked and recored for a refund so he can sell it to someone else!..

so i sent it back made extra care to add more packaging and cross bracing to each corner and centre so that it would not get damaged in transit.

ebay closed the case as the seller agreed to refund me. once he recieved the item back.... so he recieved it today and said that it got heavily damaged in the corners. so i asked for photos as of which he has decided to ignore me and still hold my funds.

so i have contacted ebay/paypal as of which they have told me that he has 30 days to give me a refund! although he has the item and my money!

sometimes you wish people would atleast give a easier way to communicate

I'd give it it couple of days to see if they do the honest thing...If not pursue through ebay then name and shame in the bad seller section on here.

thats good advice matty, quite annoyed at the moment though. shame as the seller is on here quite frequently asking questions and searching for knowledge.

and seemed a good honest guy

would have thought that if he had the bonnet in front of him and it was damaged he would either photograph the damage and send me the photos or refund me. but he is just watching x factor......

Was the parcel you sent back insured? It's not his fault if a courier damaged it... you should just put in a claim.

thats what i am after doing but he has ignored my messages asking for photos

i have sent numerous texts messages phone calls as well as Facebook chat and ebay messaging and all he has either turned his phone off or gone offline.

i cant put a claim in untill photos are recieved and he or i send the bonnet to the main office to be "desposed" of

fingers crossed he replys tomorow and this situation is resolved

he has emailed and said that on his end it says i have been refunded so i ask if it was possible to check paypal for me to make sure


update. i have been told that i should not make threats on facebook or email... i do not understand how i have made a threat at all now.... quite confused.

he is not proving his end that he has sent a refund just copy and pasteing which isnt relavant

at the end of the 30 day ebay automaticly give you a refund iv been i a simular situation, but its something you have to sign upto on ebay now before you can sell an item. good luck

i have not once posted on here anything untruthful also i have texted him using the number he has on his ebay account i also requested his details through ebay to get another contact number which he isnt responding from either. and i personally feel there is no overeaction at the end of the day if the bonnet is back in his hands how comes he is taking so long to send me the photos of the damage? or a refund.

i have been in a situation like this before. i sold a set of miglia arches the buyer said they where bigger then he thought he sent them back and i recieved them damaged so i sent photos straight away and we claimed throught the courier...... i refund him first and got my own money back from the courier!

contacted ebay/ paypal and they assured me that they will take the matters into there own hands and also suggested that if i do not recieved my refund by the 27th i should contact the authorites and that will certainly help as they can recover my funds with the help of balifs although the seller will incurr charges for them...... now i believe that is to far

I HATE people like this... Make sure you name and shame them so others don't have to go through the same

He only received it yesterday, and you consider he is ignoring you and withholding the funds? Give the guy a chance to reply before you start firing accusations around.

I'd be pissed off if you were slagging me off on the internet because I didn't get back to you within a nano second. I could understand if it had been weeks, but the same day is being rather impatient to say the least. Perhaps he has a life outside ebay and email?

I do sympathise but there has only been 1 side to this story and Im afraid if the other party gets involved this thread will turn into a slagging match so I am locking it.
