I am in the process of building the RTS clutch with the valeo springs.
You guys use washers under the 9 bolts which replaced the rivits, but what washers do you use?
I have found stainless steel grade A2 and A4 but they are only 1.6mm thick. Would they be strong enough?

I tried to find hardened thick washers but to no avail as of yet.

Thanks

The washers I used were from the K1100 bmw bike head. They are ideal as they are hardened.

You can get them from here.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I dont think the washers need to be super strong. Certainly the normal rivets arent anything special.

I got some of these CNC'd up to repair some rivets that bent on my clutch. Bloody expensive though !! Made from stainless, and made so they can never move, held totally secure by the cap screw. Ended up buying a new clutch instead though, too many problems with that one, so wasnt worth continuing.

The clutch itself is made with 2 springs. In that sense it isnt DIY, although obviously it is an aftermarket clutch.

It does seem to be quite common practise where a heavy single spring isnt available.

I would prefer the version where instead of a crappy little steel ring, there is the big washer type ring under the bolts.
