Ok guys, a quick update, sorting out the wiring it looks terrible to say the least putting as much has I can inside the car, allso sticking sound proofing inside the dash area at the same time

At this stage did'nt know where to start *oh well*

Started with megajolt harnest first. coil wires from enis 4 through into the car and back out to the coil..

The rest of the megajolt wires to the back of the fuse box, and the megajolt unit..

Next to the fuse box itself, and at this stage already put all main harnest inside the mini so had to come back through into the engine bay to the fuse box..

As you can see still a lot of tidying inside the dash area..

Started wiring the switches to the old type, moved the choke cable to opossite side, would like to fit an electric heater tap does anyone know of one I could use, I saw one fitted to a guys mini, but he did not know what car it was from..

Fastend the relays to the bulk head, In this photo you can see the stick on sound proofing..

Thats It far now but getting there slowly :) Alan

again so that I can sort a few little jobs out..

First being the fuel regulator and pipes..

The rest of the exhaust to make fit..

A boss for O2 sensor at the bottom of the bend to be welded in..

Theres the bracket for, gearbox case to exhaust..

Thats it for now guys.. Alan

Decided to make a mobile jig to wheel the engine and subframe in and out because I want to
be able to use this idea in the future, when its clean up time end of season, and if theres any
big job to do on the car at any time later on..

Heres a few pictures to show what I mean

This one before I made back supports..

Made the back ones ajustable..

A bit rough and ready but does the job, May tidy it up later

The four posts that the subframe rests on Ive made to slide out because the trolly part, is my
engine trolly..

As you can see here front posts fit to flip front hinge brackets

Got two of these trollys, my engine is on the other one..

started to finish putting engine togeather now..

Also put some heat resistant material in turbo box

Open to comments guys or any ideas you may have.. Thanks in advance.. Alan

Fitted two grommets to bulk head for heater pipes..

Bought a KA heater tap, sawn off the two hangers and started to fit to car..

Cut a Piece out of the shelf other side of bulk head..

Made a Bracket to mount the tap too..

Heater tap in position..

Going to change the size and colour of heater pipes..

Made bracket for exhaust to diff- casing, also made exhaust extension to fit over
straightpipe to back of car..

Bracket fitted to diff- casing

Made bracket to clamp them together, the bracket needs a bit more work on it yet, will do later..

As you can see next job to fit back box, Also fitted extra 10mm fuel pipe from front to rear..

Thats it for now..Alan

Just to let everyone know Still working on my mini, I’ve got a few things done, but these bits and bats take more time than you realise, On with the pictures and I’ll try to explain what I’ve done so far, as usual comments and advice welcome..

First I’ve welded the boss in for the Lambda sensor..

Down pipe fitted back on with Lambda sensor screwed in..

Started to make air intake pipe for turbo..

Going to put a jubilee clip on the alloy flange..

Got to get between the radiator and chassis..

Changing the shape now to square to keep maximum air intake, because it gets
quite narrow passing through the narrow gap..

Starting to shape up a bit now..

More to follow..Alan

i like your air intake idea mate, quick question tho, wont it knock on the body as the engine moves?

I’m hoping not, got three engine steadies to put on so engine should not move that much, and I think it will move mainly forward, If my memory serves me right the engine mainly twists forward, clearance between the body and intake is about 1/4", I’ve made it square there thinking if I do get it Knocking I can make it slimmer and taller if need be, must admit it is close how much do you think It will move ?.. Alan

Why not put some flexible hose between the turbo and air intake and then solid mount the intake.

This sounds like a good idea. At least then you can soild mount the intake.

It might be worth putting some threaded fittings in the intake, ready for water injection. *wink*

Do it. 1 fitting with an 1/8 npt drilling in it would be perfect.

The Idea is to put a tab on the intake, then screw it to the fan housing so that it moves with the engine, don’t really want any flexi in that area at all, that’s why I’ve done the steal intake in the first place.. Sorry guys I don’t know what you mean about water injection, please will you explain.. Alan

A few updates guys, moved spring on master cylinder frame so that I can run my wiring to the fuse box at the back of the frame to hide wiring a bit,

Started to do some pipe work

Made my top engine steady, near side

Made drive side engine steady, both of these are adjustable

Made a pipe from the front breather and taking it through the old water manifold out the other end to rocker cover

Only got to here for now, will do some more on the breather when the right Idea comes to me

Having another look at the alternator, don’t like how the terminal sticks out at the front

Much better I think, turned it top to bottom, had to make more spaces, but that’s what you do, the
price you pay when you keep changing the plan, some refining to do yet..

Moving the oil cooler to different place, to free up space at the front..

More later, willing to listen to any help or comments from you guys, thanks Alan..

All very nice alan, I like the idea of using the inlet in the breather system.
The only thing I would personally do, but not sure if it would make a lot of difference, is add a bracing to the engine steady bracket on the bulkhead on the passenger side, I can't help but think thats going to move about under stress.
