Good afternoon all, i have been driving the new car for a week now and on two occasions i have gone to nip into a good size gap not being stupid or anything but all i have got is wheel spin pulling away at 2000rpm... Now in the pug being n/a it was fine as there was no torque low down really but in the clio there is tonns of it.

Has anyone got some advice for nippy pullaways on boost which dont resolve in lots of wheel spin?

The only other turbo cars i have driven have been deisel, 4wd, traction control fwd or a 335 with the 7 speed box and stupidly wide 275 tyres which doesnt really wheel spin at all

The pug needs cv boot, possibly back box and top mounts, the tappets/exhaust manifold are quite tappy as well. As i said no time or free money as i want to put my money and time into mini. Thus probably going to scrap it, i cant keep it anywhere as have no space otherwise i may have kept it for a track car.

Got used to it now, though i have only done 3 quick pull aways now lol, the car has only seen 80 and that was by mistake overtaking down hill on the motorway, getting alot more mpg compared to the pug its lovely *smiley*

I cba with it, since what happened i always stay bang on or just under the speed limit, it was a big wake up call got out of to many things. Loving the clio though so is melissa we have done a few trips to bristol averaging 50+ on the motorway at 70 where as the pug would just do that at 60 arround town currently is 38mpg but that will go up now were getting used to being off and on boost instead of always on boost being used to driving the pug where you needed some right foot to get it anywhere.
