ive just bought '74 clubby 998cc auto which will be turbo'd before avon hopefully.

what do i do about front subby the auto one thats on at the moment is held at the top mounts by 2 bolts eitherside but i hope to use the later type subby which has one big bolt through the middle. in the bulk head there are 2 big holes anyway.

so has any one done one before?
do i need to get hold of a manual 4 bolt subby or will i get a way with welding in some pipe in the box section of the bukhead ( as the holes arent reinforced and the big bolts will probably crush the box section) so i can use the later type subby.

did any of the above make sence? lol*smiley*

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

I've got an early 4 bolt manual subframe from a Mk II mini if you're interested.

It will need a cleanup and the suspension arms would probably need a refurb.

Cheers

Just to add you are better off using the 4 bolt subframe as it mounts direct to the floor of the car and so no rubbers to give sloppy steering.

And especially if Neil's got one, jobs a goodun.
