Early metro turbo engine (with the strong crank). Rebuilt with forged rods & decent bolts.

Only running std boost - with noisy (crap) blowoff and an intercooler of unknown origin.

It's not the fastest thing in the world - but still a lot faster than my mpi sportspack (which is rustier than a rusty thing - my current project soon to be b18c6 ITR engine)

Doesn't quite belong in this forum I guess - so sorry if I offend anyone with the devils own engine photos following...

I like the holes in the bonnet of the red car, very subtle indeed. Not so sure about the Japanese metal, but each to their own *wink*

I however do like the honda :)
I wasn't sure if it was my eyes or there actually were holes in the front, do you have a better picture?

Nought much to see with the holes... Just 50mm holes with some mesh glassed on behind - then sprayed... Only way to get some airflow to the intercooler that was easy... Wish I didnt have the stupid ducts on the back of the bonnet - one day I'll get rid of both and sort out some hidden ducting with fibreglass/carbon - would prefer if it looked completely stock- but thanks.

The green rust bucket will look completely stock sportspack when done too.

Red has removable steel front (not a flipper) and doing the same on the green one.

NACA ducts upside down. I'm curious about the theory about that :)

Ok- generally NACA ducts (the normal way) are pulling air in due to a pressure differential above (high) and below (low).

Flip em over - and they work as extraction vents - airflow creates a low pressure zone and 'sucks' air out...

Ok - that's my theory - an I'm sticking to it... *happy* (or just chalk it up to a bad idea - I have many of these...)

... Sorry about the vtec... (yet another 'bright idea')

A great forum - really nice to feel welcome as a newbie... Cheers all!

Ps - they do work! I had my boost gauge hose blow off and melt on the exhaust manifold - much smoke came pouring out those vents...

Nice projects.

Must agree about the ducts. I thought that area around the scuttle was high pressure.

In the 13's at last!.. Just
