Australia oi oi oi!

so im going to buy some of carls wheels very soon.

i want to convert my 8.4s to 7.9's

im looking at 4pots.

im not to sure what to buy?

so either these from mini sport do i need vented? it's only for a supercharged everyday type mini, it seems to be all the same price so is it a might as well type thing?

i cant see me cracking more then 120 bhp

http://www.minisport.com/mini-spare-parts/...aliper_Kit.html

or been looking at either these not sure if i need a adapter plate to make this work? with my 8.4's

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

now as far as 10inch wheels go, what is a good size for road? 10x6? and will they fit under wood & picket arches?

i have never driven a mini on 10's only 12's & 13's what are 10's like? can you compare? i found 13's to be more bumpy on the road, i love the look of them 10's thats for sure!

Have a look at the kad stuff, looks good. Arent those tarox brakes a bit pricey for a road car?

The turbo build has finally started

Australia oi oi oi!

they are not new, 2nd hand and at a good price just wondering what else i would need with those tarox type ones and are they any better?

i think the mini sport ones will be fine, not sure to go 7.9 or 7.5 is there any difference at all?

I just bought minispares 7.5" callers to go under my force racing wheels. i think you get what you pay for...

I have 10 x 6 with 3" outers and i doubt they would go under wp arches

those don't appear to have a dust seal; not sure if that is an issue to you

Most group two arches will cover 6 x 10 wheels (only just) and Wood and Picket arches are a little wider than group two so should be fine

When wolfie took me out in his on force 10's the ride was really nice compared to my 12's with gay max dampers he has alot more grip as well with the 032 tyres, as for carls i have had mine 3" inner over a vented 7.9" brake setup with ease which were mini spares calipers, which is also what wolfie runs but non vented.

You need group 2 wide to cover a 3" outer rim

10"s all the way. Totally trasformed the ride of my car when I took the 13" off. No more bump steer! the extra trye height smooths out bumps in the road and the drop in sprung weight over 13's means the suspension work much more efficiently

I think i meant tramling - wikipedea says:
Tramlining is the tendency of a vehicle's wheels to follow the contours in the surface upon which it runs. The term comes from the tendency of a car's wheels to follow the normally recessed rails of street trams, without driver input in the same way that the train does. The same effect is sometimes called Nibbling[1].

Tramlining can usually be blamed on tires, and its incidence depends greatly on the model of tire and its state of wear. Although not normally dangerous, at very high speeds it can become a source of instability.

Vehicles with large and wide low profile tires are more prone to the effects as well as vehicles which have wheels fitted that are larger than the manufacturers recommendation or have reinforced sidewalls. People who are relatively inexperienced with driving with this tendency will feel that they have to make continual course corrections and it is very easy to overcompensate the steering, which could potentially lead to veering off the road especially if the road is a narrow track/country road.

The effects of tramlining can be eased by subjecting the vehicle to an inspection and calibration of the wheels (ie. a full geometry check) or replacing the tires with non-reinforced (soft sidewall) tires.

Its all down to personal perf for looks and ride so untill you try them only you can decide. If you get it setup on 13s then I like the look of 13s better the 10s are all tyre wall. Only you can decide

Set of Carls Big Dish 10's, best of both worlds, big wheel appearance with 10" sidewall.
