Are any of you guys running forged JE pistons?

Accralites all the way, just get the valve clearance cut into them. The cuts will end up looking like its just a slot right across the top.

You can get mahel custom pistons forged for that sort of price i belive Drives

But if you are lucky enough to have £500 and don't mind waiting, why not. Last time we heard of some one using the JE pistons, they found that they needed to remove about 6mm from the block to get the pistons flush, but the custon pistons might be different. initially i was going to get a set of accralites but since they merged with omega the price has went up considerably. MED do a FIS 18cc dish omega piston for £460 then it will be + machining cost for valve cutouts. Si it would appear that that will be the going rate for pistons unless anybody knows where a set of accralites can be got for cheaper Edited by Adam_R on 19th Nov, 2011. |

Most companies will make you a custom set to whatever size spec you want.
