Somewhere around Swindon

brought home one of the turbo engines i had sat at the old chaps workshop

as its been sat around with no head on for about a year the deck has a fair abount of rust

now this block does not have liners so its ideal for a rebuild but if i get the deck machined its going to raise the compression ratio?

is having the deck machined going to fubar this block for use with a turbo? if it is ill rebuild it N/A for my daily driver

If your machine shop are any good they should be able to only take off the smallest amount, ie a couple of thou.

This will remove all rust and leave the compression ratio prety much unchanged. (obviously it will go up a tiny tiny amount)

I have had blocks skimmed in the past that around the pitting around the waterways due to rust is still there cause they have skimed it by such a small amount
