So it looks like I may be making a tank. I was thinking about the fuel sender and the dip sender from Merlin looks good but has anyone used them? and can I get them to work with the std fuel gauge? now it says on the ebay ad that it works with 90-0 OHMS.
I have started posting on Instagram also my name on there is turbomk1golf

I'll be guessing the 90-0 ohms is the range at which the gauge works, 90ohms resistance at empty, and 0 with a full tank, After all the standard sender is a simple resistor. Cant see why it wouldnt work mate.

I have one in my car. They are available either hi-lo, or low-hi I think.

The asap ones are the cheapest I could find. Their US range is very close to what I need, but not 100%

Theres a chap on 16vminiclub that makes a little ecu that will callibrate the signal from the sender so that it works with standard mini clocks On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

Apparently Gill senders do not offer a resistive output.

Found it https://www.spiyda.com/magento/index.php/fu...uge-wizard.html He's a clever chap. Made the LED light units for my mini. That's a bloody clever piece of kit ! he needs to have tags in there for fuel sender etc. I searched and searched for all manner of senders etc when I changed my fuel gauge recently and couldnt find anything. So I'm sure I'm not alone in looking for something like this. Even if he could epoxy it up so people cant easily copy, and contact fuel tank suppliers for classics, alloy tanks etc so they could resell it. I also contacted the place who made my alloy tank, and they couldnt help other than factory preset VDO sender ranges Edited by stevieturbo on 27th Nov, 2011. 9.85 @ 145mph
