Does anyone know how much a +30 set of these cost new for the 1275?
What are peoples views on them?

Benross might remember how much they cost back when *wink*

You could try contacting Karl through this company http://www.kspg-ag.de/index.php?lang=3

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I don't think anyone here got a view on them as they are OLD. Considered good pistons back then though.

Any photos?

Yeah that's what i was wondering as not many people know about them but i did a little research and there ment to be the best and bullet proof.
I just bought a brand new set last night at a good price.
As soon as they turn up ill get some pics.
They also have 4 piston rings instead of 3 per piston?

I think I would rather have paid £300 to MED for some cast omega's than those.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Lmao, does everyone have to put 'cooper s' on every classic related part in the hope to get the price bumped up? Does my bloody head in. Rant over...

Usually with a four ring piston the top two rings are compression rings and lower two are oil control rings.

why two oil control rings, I don't know the answer, but I'll bet it had something to do with the accuracy of the bore finishing back in the day.

Either way a four ring piston is NOT a performance piston since it has ~33% more friction than a 3 ring piston.

It has previously be suggested that you can leave one of the rings out, but which one, and then will they still function as reliably as designed?

Other things to consider is the older forged piston material might require a large piston skirt clearance, as, they might grow a bit mre than a modern piston when hot.

Are you also sure that they are infact forged, other than the auction saying they are. What do they look like on the inside?
