Selling this engine due to lack of funds and a turbocharged project, so this is no longer needed.

Ive owned this engine around a year, and spent a fair amount of time and money on getting this running reliably.

Since buying this, i have had the head off to inspect the block, replaced the headgasket and other gaskets whilst doing so. The head is a standard 12G940. There will also be the thermostat engine steady included with the engine.
The gearbox has been pretty good to me, occasionally crunches into reverse. I believe a 3.44 Diff is fitted.
The clutch has recently been replaced, Fitted an orange diaphragm, New drive straps and bolts, AP Road/Fast Road clutch plate, New plunger and thrust bearing, and a good condition clutch arm. There is an inertia starter motor fitted to the engine which i have not had a problem with.
The exhaust system consists of a budget Fletcher LCB manifold, mild steel RC40 link pipe, and RC40 stainless silencer with a 2.25" exit.
The carb has been changed to a HIF44, has been stripped and cleaned prior to fitting, Brand new K&N cone filter fitted, Appropriate needle and Minispares Torquemaster inlet. There is not a mechanical fuel pump fitted and so has a blanking plate in its place.
The distributor has a Britpart electronic ignition kit fitted, New Lucas ballasted coil, Lumenition HT leads, new dizzy cap and rotor arm, new NGK BPR6ES plugs, and there is a spare Lucas sport coil to go with the engine.
Cooling is taken care of with a new large impellor water pump, new Minispares radiator, 88 Degree thermostat, Silicone top hose with kevlar bottom hose and bypass.
There is a Fram oil filter fitted, and the engine has been run on Castrol 20w50 and Halfords Classic 20w50 since owning it. The oil pressure sender and water temperature senders were also replaced for new ones. Red anodised and stainless dipstick fitted.
Rolling road tuned at hi-tech motorsport on the 4th jan this year, producing 64bhp @ 5600rpm. Printouts provided with the sale.
I will be keeping my alternator and removing the faulty clutch slave cylinder. The engine is still in my car and can be heard running, but cannot be test driven due to the car being SORN and the lack of an interior.

Due to this being sold as a near complete running setup, i am looking for offers in the region of £500.
Located in DY5, collection only.

If the blockis standard I'd be interested in the short engine...

I'd prefer to sell it as is V, but if i have no interest and decided to split things or come across another short engine in the meantime I'll let you know.

Just thinking about it, i wouldn't mind a few main engine/transmission parts in p/x if anyone is interested.

Unfortunately it isn't standard parts i need, and i almost have a full freshly bored ( i think ) 1275 a+ linered engine minus a head in my garage!
But now plans have changed that is no longer of use. So if anyone wants to put an offer on the block, pistons and a+ rods with (i think) new rings fitted?
Or swap for an unlinered a+ block that has a 1380 bore left in it or even bored that could do with a hone!~

New for sale post about to go up for this.

Haha, i noticed you're after a specific type of block vegard, something to do with a hole somewhere, why is this?

The hole makes it weaker, they are known to crack across it.

I'll give you 200 for the short engine and then you could sell all the ancilleries on Ebay.
Given that this is a whole less block. You can see it through the fuel pump hole if you know what you're looking at.

eBay's the place mate! They'll pay £500 for a lump of shite on there, so you should have no problem getting £400 for a decent runner!

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.
