well i think i have trcked down my problem with the hog, its the pre filter to the pump may not be man enough for the job, it was a ?5 pot top fram filter, with 6mm id inlet and outlet, but seemed to have no resistance when i blew through it before fitting.

so what is was wondering was , is what type of filter you have fitted and what type of fuel system eg mine is standard tank outlet to a large t piece with 6.5mm id inlet to a 8.5mm outlet to pump with a 7mm return.

i had this filter before the t piece from the tank, but i dont think this is man enough for a gravity fed system.

but i might fit a injection filter on the pressure side just before the regulator and see if this cures the problem.

I used to run 2 pro purculator glass in-line filters (pre pump) but always thought the pump sounded a bit strange. I replaced these filters with 2 cheap plastic in-line jobbies and the pump immediately sounded better. It also got rid of my intermitant cutting out problem, i feel very lucky to still have an engine as mine has seemed to survive many times being run at 12psi and leaning out due to the restrictive filters i had been using.

yep dave thats what i thought, fitting a injection filter before the pump would cause to much restriction as they are mega fine filters to stop shit jamming up the injectors, i think thats what ill do.
